CPI Reaches Agreements with Universities in India

The Castleberry Peace Institute is pleased to announce that in collaboration with the Department of Political Science and the Department of Linguistics at UNT, we are finalizing agreements to work in cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology--Guwahati and their faculty in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Through UNT's Department of Linguistics, our university had concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration on research, teaching and other projects, which now includes the Castleberry Peace Institute as well as the Department of Political Science. We plan to focus on developing opportunities for student exchange; student research conferences; and research on endangered languages and post conflict peacebuilding in India's Northeast. College of Information Associate Dean for Research Professor Shobhana Chelliah and Professors Kimi King and I were also accorded the status of Honorary Faculty at IIT--Guwahati.

Professor King and I also presented our research at the Department of Political Science at Gauhati University. We are working on developing a student research conference in the 2022/2023 academic year. More details coming soon! We look forward to developing these partnerships with our colleagues in Guwahati at both Guwahati IIT and Gauhati University.
